History
I come from a maritime background, so hard work is my forte. Deciding to pursue a career on land, I had no hesitation in pursuing a law degree. During my undergraduate degree I worked in the fluvial geomorphology lab at the UBC Department of Geography where I helped to design and install sediment traps in the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest in order to monitor transport of sediment during rainfall events.
I always knew that the only area of law I wanted to practice in was criminal defence. While in law school I worked for a now retired, senior defence counsel where I learned the intricacies of file management, client relations and defending a client’s case with passion and dilligence.
Choosing to specialize in criminal defence means that I am entirely devoted to it, and always studying the latest trends in the law.
After having spent much of my adult life living in East Vancouver, I chose to set up my practice on the edge of Gastown, close to both Supreme and Provincial courthouses.
